I would run compulsory training courses for all agencies - statutory and voluntary - involved with runaways. The sessions would be run by former runaways who would brainstorm the reasons why a young person runs away from home or care.

I would make sure every child had access to an advocate, then the child would have someone else to act for them, especially when we don't feel able to do it for ourselves or when by speaking out we can cause big problems in our placement.

I would make the world a better place for disabled people and have more research into the causes of and cures for disabilities. However, as miracles are very rare, I would like to see changes in how disabled people are being seen and how they are treated.
